The Blazer Has Opinions

Tailoring studio notes on structure, stretch, and stride.

Tailored academy blazer with crest detail photographed for the apparel studio.

A blazer is an argument about shoulders, and most ready-to-wear arguments are poorly sourced. The apparel systems studio treats tailoring as structural engineering: seam allowances are load paths, and a vent is a hinge with manners.

Every prototype is tested on the courtyard stairs, because everything here is. A jacket that pulls at the mid-back on step forty is returned to the pattern table with notes, and the notes are not gentle.

A blazer that cannot climb is merely upholstery.

The studio's standard is stated once, in the first week: a blazer that cannot climb is merely upholstery. Everything after that is fitting.
