A training log and a lecture notebook are the same document written in different units. Both record honest attempts. Both are useless if edited after the fact. Both improve the moment you accept they are for you and not for an audience.
The independent practicum requires one notebook, not two. Sets and sources share pages, and the margins fill with tallies that could be either. By midterm, students stop being able to tell the difference, which is the point.
The notebook does not care how you felt. It cares that you came back.
Professor Lin collects the notebooks once, at the end, and reads only the margins. Her rubric has never been published. Her comments are one line long and students keep them for years.
