Hybrid Aesthetics and Soft Power

SBG explores the convergence of contrasting aesthetic signals — softness combined with assertive presentation. Coursework covers visual language, behavioral cues, and the evolving standards of contemporary femininity.

Department Overview

SBG is a studio department co-administered with APP. Students move from garment exercises in the winter studio, into the spring presentation practicum, and finally into the senior thesis studio — a sustained body of work that argues for a personal answer to the soft-and-strong problem.
