Department / Humanities

Rhetoric, Culture, and Public Presence

RHT is the academy's humanities department. Coursework treats bodies, uniforms, posture, and confidence as forms of public communication — and trains students to argue about them in writing, in speech, and in front of an audience.

Department Overview

The RHT seminar tradition places body, uniform, and presence in conversation with classical rhetoric, contemporary media, and civic life. Students leave the department writing and speaking with rigor about subjects most schools treat as off-limits.
