Intro to E-Girl Aesthetics
An introductory seminar on the visual motifs and references of online-first identity — split-dyed hair, eyeliner, layered tops, and the long lineage of inspirations behind each one.
Syllabus
- Where the look came from — anime, scene, alt, K-pop
- Make-up grammar — eyeliner, blush placement, hearts
- Hair — color blocking and the split dye
- Wardrobe — layered tops, chains, plaid
- The webcam frame as composition
- Final reference deck and self-portrait series
Assessment
30% reading and reference responses, 25% seminar participation, 20% mid-term reference deck, 25% final self-portrait series.
