Advanced Rave Studies Seminar
A small seminar for upper-division students producing original scholarship on rave culture — its histories, scenes, ethics, and the question of what gets preserved when a movement matures.

Syllabus
- Historiography of rave — primary sources and field memory
- Underground vs. licensed scenes
- Care, consent, and ethics on the dance floor
- Music journalism and oral history methods
- Peer-review colloquium
- Final research paper or curated archive
Assessment
20% proposal, 20% archival exercise, 20% colloquium, 40% final paper or archive.
