Locomotion & Power Output

An advanced lab on translating posterior chain strength into observed locomotion: stair drives, hill walks, jump landings, and load carries. The course pairs force-plate sessions with field protocols across the campus terrain.

Syllabus

  1. From hinge to drive — converting brace into propulsion
  2. Stair and incline force production
  3. Jump landing mechanics and decel control
  4. Loaded carries and trunk integrity under fatigue
  5. Field protocol design for the four houses
  6. Final force-plate and field report

Assessment

25% lab sessions, 25% field protocol design, 20% practical exam, 30% final report and defense.
