Posterior Chain Foundations

An introductory lab in the Backline Biomechanics & Locomotion department. Students study the glute complex, hamstrings, and lumbar bracing as a single working system, with weekly hands-on screening and field movement.

Syllabus

  1. Anatomy of the posterior chain — glute complex, hamstrings, calves
  2. Hip hinge, brace, and load transfer
  3. Stance width and pelvic position assessment
  4. Locomotion screening — walk, ascend, descend, carry
  5. Recovery, mobility, and tissue care
  6. Final practical exam and lab report

Assessment

30% lab notebooks, 25% screening practicum, 20% movement analysis, 25% final practical and report.
